These terms are the agreement between you and Considus when you use this website.
This site publishes writing and open source software. You can read it, join the mailing list, and write to us through the support form. Nothing is sold here, and the software we publish is covered by the licence that ships with it rather than by these terms.
If you use Catchlight, it has its own separate terms. See catchlight.app.
Using this site means you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use it.
Who we are
Considus is a sole trader based in England. References to "we", "us" and "our" in these terms mean Considus.

What these terms cover
These terms apply to your use of considus.com. They work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle the limited personal data we hold.
Using this site
You are welcome to read this site, link to it, and quote from it with attribution. Please use it lawfully and as intended. Do not attempt to disrupt it, gain unauthorised access to it, probe its security, or use it in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone else's rights.
We provide this site "as is" and may change or remove anything on it at any time without notice, and we may take it down entirely. We may suspend or withdraw access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.
Our content and marks
The text, images and design of this site belong to Considus and are protected by copyright. The Considus name, wordmark and constellation mark are ours, as are the Catchlight name, logo and brand.
Quoting with attribution is fine. Reproducing the site wholesale, or using our name or marks in a way that suggests we endorse or are connected with something we are not, is not.
Software we publish
Software published by Considus is covered by the licence that ships with it, not by these terms. Where we publish source code, the licence in that repository governs what you may do with it.
No warranty and your rights
- This site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that anything on it is complete or current. Nothing here is professional advice.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
- Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
- Subject to the above, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss, or for any loss arising from your use of this site or from anything you rely on here.
Links to other sites
This site links to catchlight.app and to a small number of other sites. Those sites have their own terms and their own privacy policies, and we do not control them and are not responsible for them.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version number and effective date at the top show the current version, and changes are not applied retroactively. Continuing to use this site after an update means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not affect any right you have to bring proceedings in the country where you live.
